Yesterday, we looked at a very cool venue in downtown Spokane. It’s called the Riverside and it is an old Masonry building that was vacant for about four years, until a couple bought it to renovate for weddings. The first thing you notice are the giant Corinthian columns that span the front. Once inside, you are struck buy the rugged beauty of the marble that seems to go on forever.
The venue has many rooms to choose from, and we knew that we were going to need a fair amount of space to fit all the guests we are hoping will attend. Of course, we had done our research and were primarily interested in the “Fall Room” which is essentially the penthouse of the building. Kate is in love. Which needless to say is my primary goal.
The dark polished floor matched with the black painted steel beams, brick walls and wooden ceiling is the exact feel we wanted our venue to possess. Plenty of space, a clear altar and an amazing balcony overlooking the Spokane River were some added bonuses. Other bonuses included the fact that it is much more affordable (read: not Seattle) and close to Kate’s home – Coeur d’Alene. Not to mention the fact that it is a much easier destination for those family members who are traveling since you can fly directly into Spokane airport at a much lower cost and isn’t an unreasonable drive time for those friends and family in Seattle.
