Phil and Robert have been kickin’ it since 7th grade. Which he admits feels a bit strange to still reference these types of things by grade level; the 30 year old in him means to say since 1998. They met through a mutual friend and quickly discovered they each had many things in common. To name a few:
- Seahawks
- The internet
- Technology
- Paintballing
- Jobs
- Video Games
- Neat Gadgets (He had a full on air hockey table in his room. What a bad ass.)
- the list goes on and on…
There were many sleepless nights where Robert would make what seemed like the arduous trek from his house to Phil’s so that he could take advantage of Phil’s “cable internet”. Counter Strike required a fast internet connection and Phil’s family was one of the first in the neighborhood to invest in such a thing. Imagine the amount of good that could have come from putting that kind of time and energy into something meaningful… Now stop, because that was never going to happen.
Phil and Robert eventually got accepted into the UW together, and originally had the same academic aspirations. Robert quickly figured out that the level of effort needed to become a chemist wasn’t something he wasn’t interested in. However, what did persist was their close friendship and ‘roommate status’ all through college.
Robert is extremely honored to have Phil be one of his groomsmen and looks forward to Phil’s lifelong friendship and support!
